Fun morning… not really

Well I’ve been bummed for the past two days because I failed my second glucola test for gestational diabetes. Kind of stinks (ok- really stinks) because I eat pretty healthfully and am not overweight, nor have I gained a ton with this pregnancy. The main reason I’m at risk is because it runs in my family. I was pretty devastated after failing this second test because of the mommy-guilt that sneaks in and tells me that I’m putting my baby at risk. All of that with a high dose of anxiety about needing to take the 3 hour test where you have to fast for 12 hours, drink 100 grams of sugar, and have blood taken a total of 4 times. But I’m happy to say that I completed the test just a little bit ago and am still alive. Worn out with sore arms, but alive. I won’t hear the results until next week so I’m still anxious about that, but at least the stress of taking the test has subsided.

Have I mentioned what a fun pregnancy this has been? Baby girl, your delivery better be easy as pie!
