Superfoods

Here are some superfoods that we have added/will be adding to our daily diets- I will let you look up what they do for you HERE.
Beets and beet greens, Cabbage, Guava (the whole thing is edible), swiss chard, cinnamon (moms- this can mask a lot of flavors if mixed in with things that may not sit well with your children), purslane, pomegranate juice, goji berries, prunes/dried plums, pumpkin seeds, sardines, tumeric (a spice which is found in mustard), blueberries, canned pumpkin (a MUST in our household! I mix it into our applesauce with… CINNAMON!), spinach (I mix this into berry smoothies), beans (I mix pureed beans into casseroles), almonds, among MANY MANY OTHERS! One of our faves is kiwi- it has more potassium than a banana and more vitamin C than an orange!! Another is broccoli which not only reduces risk of cancers, but broccoli also boosts the immune system, lowers the incidence of cataracts, supports cardiovascular health, builds bones, and fights birth defects! I’m going to a class this Thursday to learn about more foods and how they help our bodies so I will let you know what else I learn!
