Had about all I can stand…

OK. I’ve never gotten political on here. And I probably never will again. In fact, this posting has nothing to do with where I stand on anything. It’s simply common sense and common curtosy- 2 things that this country is lacking in a major way.

You guessed it- I’m talking about the slaughter of Sarah Palin and her family.

I have a few points I’d like to address:

* We (as a nation) love to complain how we have no good female role-models. We love to hate (or hate to love) Britney, Bratz dolls, Anna-Nicole, Lindsey, Paris, even Barbie (who has held some pretty impressive jobs in her day but is too “skinny”). Now, when we are at the cusp of having an intelligent woman/mother of 5 who has a passion for making change and has shown so in rising from PTA mom to potential VP of this country, we are SO quick to knock her down and tell her she, too, isn’t good enough. This has nothing to do with politics. If you disagree with her because of policies that is one thing, but because she is a woman/mom/has a pregnant daughter/isn’t spending enough time with her family (I’ll touch on these more in a moment)- come on!

*Why are we any more concerned with an unmarried pregnant 17 year old than we are about 35-40 year old unmarried pregnant women who are in the news and making headlines and gaining celebrity every day?  And I’m very tired of hearing put-downs about these teenage girls who are  pregnant FROM THE SAME INDUSTRY WHICH MOCKS VIRGINITY! Let he who has no sin cast the first stone…

*Why aren’t we worried about Barack not “being there” enough for HIS children? He has 2 young daughters who certainly need attention from their father too, right? Why are we upset at Sarah’s decision to be in office and divide her time among family and work but not upset about Barack or any other politician dividing their time?

OK- I’m done now…

I Can’t agree more!!! I love her and think she would be great, and yes it has everything to do with that fact that she is a women and a positive role model at that!
