Pastor appreciation month

Reasons I love my Youth-Pastor-hubs:

*his heart- he genuinely cares for other people

*his blue eyes (why oh WHY haven’t my children gotten his eyes!)

*he’s an incredibly hard worker

*he calls me when he knows I’m having a rough day just to let me vent

*he has come home from renting a movie with a chick flick rather than a boy-movie on numerous occasions

*he’s sensitive AND strong

*he’ll sacrifice watching a big game to hang out with our family

*he’s driven across town just to change a friend’s baby’s diaper for me while I was watching her because I was pregnant and dry-heaving from just the thought of doing it myself

*he can grocery shop with the best of them

*he runs after who God wants him to be

*he’s a gifted writer and speaker

*he loves watching “What Not to Wear”- seriously! (Don’t tell him I said so, however!)

*he values my opinions and convictions

*he has taken days off of work to take care of our family when I’ve been sick

*he does the dishes every single day

*he slept in the living room with a golf club in hand for a couple weeks following our windows getting smashed in

*he’s intelligent

*he loves his children more than words can say

*he can draw Elmo better than I

*he has helped me with scrapbook layouts

*he prays over our family every morning before he goes to work

*he has sacrificed many things in order to follow God

*he is funny

*he’s my best friend

I’ll leave you with a little funny conversation that happened yesterday:

Dan: Hey, can you shave my neck tonight?

Me: Sure.

Dan: You used to take better care of my grooming.

Me: You used to be my only child.

Both: (hysterical laughter)

Usually he doesn’t find me that funny but this time I got him.
